Being. With.
Being With reflects the way we work together in therapy — slowing things down, noticing what is happening internally, and learning to stay alongside your thoughts, feelings, nervous system responses and the different parts of you with greater awareness, care and curiosity.

You can explore these experiences in more depth here.
I'm Tami Oren, a psychotherapeutic counsellor based in Cambridge.
I offer a calm, grounded, and relational approach. I show up as myself, offering a genuine, attentive presence where you can feel heard and understood without judgement.
I am a qualified and experienced therapist working integratively with approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, somatic awareness and an understanding of the nervous system. I pay close attention to both my own awareness and the experience of my clients within the therapeutic relationship, helping us notice patterns, protective responses and emotional shifts as they arise.
At the heart of what I offer is the relationship we build together. Being With Me creates a space where you can begin to explore what feels difficult, make sense of your experiences, and feel supported as you find your way forward.
Sessions & Practicalities
I offer psychotherapeutic counselling both in person in Cambridge and online, giving you the flexibility to choose what feels most comfortable and accessible for you.
My therapy room is located in the heart of Cambridge, just opposite King's College on King's Parade. Although it sits within the centre of the city, the entrance is discreet, and once inside, the space feels calm, quiet, and removed from the outside pace.
Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £70. When exploring things through Internal Family Systems (IFS), sessions may occasionally run slightly longer, and this is something we can discuss together if it feels appropriate.
I offer a small number of reduced-fee spaces, and you are very welcome to ask about this.
I also have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or rearrange a session, I ask for at least 24 hours notice.
What It Can Feel Like to Explore Things Together
As we begin to explore things together, I am alongside you - listening closely, noticing what sits underneath, and at times gently challenging where it feels helpful.
Often, people come to counselling at a point where something is shifting or asking to be acknowledged, even if it's not yet clear what that is.
You might notice different parts of yourself that feel difficult to make sense of - the part that wants things to change, and the part that feels afraid; the part that carries grief, and the part that struggles to allow it space. Together, we begin to understand these experiences with more clarity and care.
Our time together is shaped through conversation, curiosity, and connection. Each session follows what you bring, allowing space for honesty, reflection, and depth.
Some sessions may feel more emotional or significant, while others feel quieter and steady. Both are part of the process.
Over time, many people notice a shift in how they relate to themselves - often as greater understanding, self-compassion, or a sense of feeling more at ease.
You are welcome as you are, and we begin from there.

My Approach
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic models to support you in a way that feels right for you.
I work collaboratively to help you make sense of what is happening internally rather than simply sitting with difficult feelings alone.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy views the mind as made up of different parts, each with its own role, emotions or protective patterns. For example, one part of you may strive for perfection, while another feels anxious, withdrawn or highly self-critical.
Rather than fighting against these parts, IFS helps us understand them with curiosity and compassion so that change can happen more naturally and effectively.
Where helpful, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to notice patterns in thoughts, feelings and behaviours. This is useful when something feels repetitive or difficult to shift, offering gentle structure and greater awareness of how these patterns may be affecting you.
Some clients come for shorter-term therapy focused on a specific issue or period of difficulty, while others choose longer-term work to explore deeper emotional patterns, relationships and life experiences over time.
